“A thread lift is fresh foundation.”

"You know that elaborate scaffolding Michelangelo used while he painted the Sistine Chapel? A Threadlift is something like that: we very carefully build a new structure around the delicate anatomy of your face and use it to reshape, re-contour, tighten and lift. You’re left with a new work of art.”

Why a Thread Lift?

  • Not a surgical face lift, but a powerful tool for lifting and tightening.

  • No incisions, no scars.

  • A good “middle ground” between fillers and surgery.

  • Can also be used on the body.

Thread lifts offer a dramatic, instant lift that also stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen for long-lasting, natural-looking results. In this procedure, we sculpt and lift the entire face, with a focus on cheek contours, sagging skin and jowls, and that all-important jawline.

Thread lifts are a great “middle ground” between routine fillers on one hand and costly surgery on the other, and they offer many of the benefits of both: lift and structure, plus contouring and collagen generation. And because we use specialized needles at precision injection sites rather than making a surgical incision, there is no open wound to stitch closed, and thus little to no chance of leaving you with a scar.

We can also use threads strategically on areas of concern beyond the face like bellies or knees—anywhere you might want to contour and stimulate collagen generation.

Depending on your skin and the results we’re targeting, we have a whole palette of specialized threads to work with, each with specific properties.

For instance, molded and barbed threads like the ones at left work wonders for sculpting along a line, while a smooth threads are especially good at generating collagen production.

Is a thread lift right for me?

  • Yes, if you want dramatic results but are not interested in a full surgical facelift, whether because of risk factors associated with surgery and anesthesia, worries about scarring, or the prohibitive cost of surgery.

  • Yes, if you don’t have a lot of downtime. Unlike with surgery, you can be event-ready almost immediately after a Thread Lift. Ideally, we recommend having the procedure done at least 14 days before you need to look your best, but you’ll still be ready to shine after just one good night’s rest.

  • Yes, if you have moderate facial volume loss. The truth is, sometimes surgery is more than is required to achieve your beauty goals—for some patients, especially those with only mild to moderate volume loss, or moderate lines and wrinkles, a thread lift could be the ideal option.

  • Maybe not, if you have experienced dramatic volume loss or have significant sun and or age-related skin damage. In some cases, a combination of fillers, threads and resurfacing treatments may work wonders, but for some others, your best option depending on your goals may be full surgery.

  • Maybe not, if you expect to lose a dramatic amount of weight in the near future. Because weight loss can lead to profound changes in the compositions of our faces, we recommend that you wait until you’re nearing your weight goal before having a thread lift.

  • Maybe not, if you suffer from certain autoimmune disorders or are prone to keloid scarring. Some disorders may increase the risk of complications that can outweigh the benefits. And though the risk of scarring is small, there is a unique risk of scarring among patients with keloid disorder—note that these patients will also want to steer clear of surgical facelifts.

  • In the lead-up to your treatment, stop use of alcohol, supplements and medication that may thin the blood in order to decrease your risk of bruising. Don’t worry—we’ll cover the specifics in our consultation! Arrive at your appointment with a clean, makeup-free face if possible.

  • At the beginning of the procedure, a small needle and cannula are used to administer numbing medications. After the medication takes effect, the procedure is virtually painless.

  • We will review post-treatment care and expectations during your consultation, but you’ll want to go easy on your face for the first two weeks. It is highly advised that you not sleep on your side or stomach during this period.

  • Results are immediate and will continue to improve over the course of 4-6 weeks.
